Flax Sweater

Do you want to make your first sweater but would rather not tackle it alone?  In this four part class, we will guide you through the process of making the Flax sweater by TinCan Knits.  The first session we will begin by talking about the pattern, choosing a size, swatching and yarn selection. In the second session we will tackle short rows and begin the raglan increasing. In the third session we will split for the sleeves, and the fourth will be devoted to knitting the arms. 

The class will meet every other week, which will give students time to work on their projects on their own. In addition to the class sessions, students are welcome to attend Friday Sit & Stitch at Moonspun Wool with their works-in-progress for additional help and guidance. 

A couple things to keep in mind: The pattern we will be knitting is very versatile, and can be knit in a broad range of sizes (from kids to adult 6XL), and with either a DK or worsted weight  yarn. The sweater does not need to be finished within the two-month class window, but we will go over all of the sections and steps so that you can complete it at your own pace.  

Session One: Thursday, October 9th  6pm-8pm

Session Two: Thursday,  October 23rd  6pm-8pm

Session Three: Thursday, November 6th  6pm-8pm

Session Four: Thursday, November 20th  6pm-8pm

Prerequisites: Must be able to knit and purl confidently, and able to increase and decrease stitches.

Materials to bring: We will discuss materials needed in the first class, no need to purchase anything before we start. Expect to eventually need enough DK or worsted weight yarn to complete a sweater in your chosen size, stitch markers, circular needles in at least 2 sizes and DPN's if you choose to knit arms with this method.

Refund and Cancellation Policy: There are no class refunds. If you need to cancel, we are happy to extend your payment to the next available class, or offer in-store credit. Payments will be refunded if class minimum participation is not met.

3-6 participants, ages 16 and up. Participants get a 10% discount on class materials purchased at Moonspun Wool.
